I'm a small town country kid who joined the military to see the world. I retired in 2010 from the US Air Force with my travel desires complete, well all except for Europe, but I saw plenty of the Pacific and of course some desert time too.
Our goal (my wife and I) is to raise quality Boer goats on a pasture based diet with as little input required outside of health checks and such. I'm totally freaked out about parasites to the point I lose sleep at night. Hopefully, with pasture rotations and natural browse, I can keep them under control. I would also like to add some color to the herd along with better genetics as time goes by. I still consider myself a beginner to raising goats so I have a lot left to learn. What's great is that I love raising goats so every setback is a chance for a comeback so I will not get discouraged.
Ultimately, I would like to quit/retire from my normal job in the city and move to the farm full time but unfortunately i'm not able to do it just yet. I have bills to pay and my herd can not sustain all my wants outside of the farm just yet.
